Red Fort

2 hr typical visit ₹35 entry 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM Closed Mon

The fort took nearly a decade to build and served as the Mughal seat of power for two centuries. Enter through Lahori Gate, walk the Chatta Chowk covered bazaar, then head for the Diwan-i-Aam and the marble Diwan-i-Khas beyond it. The Rang Mahal and Khas Mahal along the river wall are the most rewarding interiors.

Allow two hours if you want to see the palaces properly rather than photograph the gate and leave.
