About MapyGo
Why MapyGo exists and how our destination profiles are built.
MapyGo is a destination intelligence portal. Most travel sites either sell you something or tell you a story. We do a third thing: we describe a place the way a well-travelled friend would — what is actually there, in what order to see it, what it costs, when to go, and how to move between things without wasting half your holiday in traffic.
What you will find on every destination page
- A city profile — the character of the place, its ideal trip length, best months, languages, currency and getting-around basics.
- Ranked attractions — every place we list carries a popularity score, a realistic visiting duration, opening hours, entry fees and the kind of traveller it suits.
- Category lenses — the same city seen through history, devotion, nature, entertainment, food or nightlife, because two travellers rarely want the same trip.
- A local directory — hotels, restaurants, transport, clinics and other services mapped to the same coordinates as the attractions.
- An instant itinerary — tell us your days, budget and who you are travelling with, and we sequence the city into a workable plan with a cost estimate.
How the data is built
Destination and attraction records are written and curated by our editorial team, then enriched with structured data from official tourism boards, operator websites and the Google Places API. Records that have been checked against a primary source are marked as verified internally. Prices, timings and holidays change constantly — we re-check high-traffic pages on a rolling schedule and date every page so you know how fresh it is.
Where we can be wrong
Entry fees rise, monuments close for restoration, and a road that took forty minutes last winter can take ninety this one. Treat our numbers as good planning estimates, not guarantees, and confirm anything time-critical with the official source before you travel. If you spot something stale, tell us — corrections from readers are the fastest way we improve.
